In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings be upon my grandfather, Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah and his family..
O you who asked — let your mind give you the verdict, and you will find it rejects this, for this hadith contradicts reason and logic. So do not follow the fabricators.
The standard for a woman’s marriage is the condition that she has reached menstruation, for that is a divine sign that she has entered the age in which marriage is permitted for her.
We derive this from the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحِيضِ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّى يَطْهُرْنَ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِينَ وَيُحِبُّ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ (222)
(Qur’an: Surah al-Baqarah, 2:222)
Thus, whoever has reached menstruation is permitted to marry. We derive this from Allah’s saying:
